Ron & Brenda from Tweed; Marmora
June 26 - Debby Simcoe from Lori's home town of Deroche held a Partylite Fundraiser which raised 700 dollars. This is the second fundraiser she has held for Lori and we appreciate the help she and other local ladies provide.
Another local lady named Gwen Hunt who lives in Lake Errock (town neighboring Deroche) will be doing an interview and write up on Lori in the new women's magazine, "The Rag" due out in September.
Lori would also like to thank Connie Campbell McIntyre of Glen Allen who donated 100 dollars on behalf of her sister who has MS as well as some of the residents at the care home where she volunteers. Thanks to Ron and Brenda in Tweed who saw Lori on the Ottawa news and has given Lori and Chris a free night and free firewood at their Tipper Family Campground in honor of their niece that has MS. They also gave Lori a T-shirt and hat in exchange for their picture being taken with Lori.

Two Sore Feet and One Tough Heartbeat!
June 29 - By today Lori has completed 1600 km and is currently in Peterborough. The heat and large amount of kilometers traveled (1000 miles)are beginning to take its toll on Lori and so she is finding it difficult to maintain her daily goals. She will be taking tomorrow off to rest her body, but will still be fundraising. Even if she can't keep up with the pace she would like, she will not let that stop her but will continue on. Tonight she will be a talkshow guest on Trent Radio. As well, she is to be interviewed for two of the local newspapers.
July 1 - HAPPY CANADA DAY! Look for Lori as she leaves Peterborough on Hwy#7 and then heads south on HWY#2 towards Oshawa.
July 5 - Today in Boumanville, Lori met Kelly (an engineer with Rogers) who has MS and has given her a donation.
July 6 - After walking through Ajax and arriving in Scarbourogh, Lori will end the day having walked 1740 km! |

TORONTO! Familiar Sights on Yonge Street Including the Hockey Hall of Fame
July 7 - Next stop, Toronto. Today and tomorrow Lori has a very busy day parading down Yonge St. She has good news today as Choice Hotels has just become a new Major Sponsor and will be providing Lori and Chris with accomodation on a regular basis so Lori can get her much needed hydrotherapy and some excellent bed rest to keep her going. As well, the local media in Toronto has zapped a much needed boost to the Trek. Lori is to be on the 6 o'clock news and some of the local newspapers are hot on her trail. Thanks to Dan Carter the producer/host for Chex TV who not only interviewed Lori for their program about local heroes that will be airing next Monday in Oshawa, but for also giving Lori tips and encouragement on how to get some much needed publicity to get her message out. She has alot of help from volunteers back home helping her with this, but unfortunately alot of us are rookies and any help is appreciated.
