May 19 - New Brunswick/Quebec Border

Today Lori and Chris step into Quebec making Lori the first woman to walk across New Brunswick!

May 25 - Riviere Du Loup

May 29

Lori has been asked by the Quebec Police to stay off the TransCanada Highway due to regulations which at first was a big disappointment to her, but now is a blessing in disguise. She has developed a loss of hearing in her left ear due to the noise of the semis and is hoping that this will recover a bit now that is is traveling the Navigatior's Trail. As well, the Navigator's Trail follows the south shore of the St. Lawrence Seaway which is abosolutely beautiful. More good news, Lori has lost 100 lbs. since she has started walking! The benefits keep coming! Way to go Lori!
Cap-Saint-Ignace
Lori has been sharing with me some of the rich heritage which is found in Quebec. She has met people whose families have been in the area since the 1600s such as the Gilles Gautreau family
Saint-Vallier
Many of Quebec's towns have been established for hundreds of years
May 31 and June 1 - Quebec City
Quebec City had beautiful buildings and fountains just as old
Suspension Bridge, Charny
St. Croix
Lotbiniere
Marker commemorating the 330th anniversary of the founders of the town. The bride was the daughter of the King of France at that time and the land was given to the couple at the time of their wedding
Gentilly
Local Legand says that a man 7'4" and 696 lbs carried this rock here from the town before to show his strength. It has never been moved because no one else could lift it.
Beaucancour
Lori had to take this picture because she is just awed at the fact that this house is 300 years old.
June 9 - Chambly - 1000 km
Today Lori visited the Saan's Distribution Center in Chambly. The employees presented Lori with 150 dollars which they collected! Lori also had a radio interview with Q92.5FM, a radio station in Montreal, thanks to Dianne Rivard from the MS office in Ottawa. Dianne also placed an article in the Montreal Gazette. Thanks for the support! Awareness of MS is happening and Lori is happy with these successes. Every little bit helps! Despite 70 km gale winds, she continued on her journey and celebrated 1000 km of walking with champagne and strawberries in front of a roaring sunset!
June 11 - Montreal
Lori entered Montreal by the end of the day, completing 1127 km by the end of the day
June 12 - Montreal
Last leg of Montreal before heading off towards Hawkesbury and the Ontario border. Unfortunately we find ourselves a few days behind because of the change of travel routes. Lori is finding it difficult to get coverage as she travels through cities because she has to stay off the main roads. Very few people are able to realize what Lori is trying to do because Chris is not allowed to follow in the RV. One person asked Lori how much she makes as a professional dog walker?!
June 13
Lori and Chris were at a Cardlock in the morning when they met a man named Serge who had heard Lori on the radio and read about the Trek in the newspaper. Lori was especially touched by the words of encouragement he gave her. As well, she was telling me about a Police Officer that had seen her in one town and then just happened to be on the other side of a busy road in Montreal where she needed to cross. The Police Officer was gracious enough to stop traffic for her. Thanks for the assistance. Lori is pleased with the help she is recieving and I believe it is the fact that people are aware of the Trek that encourages her the most. She is beginning to see that her message is being heard. She is doing the walking, but we can all do our part too!

Merci, Quebec! Au revoir!
